Description: Diamond Way Buddhism is a lay organization of the Karma Kagyu lineage. The meditation methods used in the Diamond Way centers – being all traditional – are presented in a Western cultural framework. Through our meditation centers, there are many who can use and benefit from these methods. Where does Diamond Way Buddhism come from? The Buddha gave three levels of teachings. The highest of the three is called Vajrayana (Sanskrit), or Dorje Thegpa (Tibetan), which translates as "The Way of the Diamond." Of the various schools that teach Vajrayana Buddhism, the Diamond Way organization was founded by Lama Ole Nydahl, thus following the wishes of the 16th Karmapa (Ranjun Rigpe Dorje). In order to preserve and make the teachings of the Karma Kagyu accessible to the West, the 16th Karmapa asked Lama Ole and his wife, Hannah, to teach Buddhism and found centers in his name.
